When this bi-coastal couple turned to the task of redesigning their DC home, they expressed their desire for a minimalist approach. Early in the renovation, when Ritter asked for direction, the husband wrote that his wife “…enjoys environments which are essentially minimalist with monochromatic tones offset and warmed on a foundation of natural stone and wood, which also sparingly and very occasionally feature unexpected and breathtaking expressions of drama.” Ritter knew then that this would be an interesting project.

Walls were removed to open the space, floating ceilings were installed throughout to incorporate dramatic lighting and custom furniture was designed for most rooms.
